Free Report…7 Step Guide To Building Your Facebook Audience From “0”

Yep, this is not the time to be shy.

1.  Ask people to follow your public page on your private page.

Don’t be afraid to invite your circle of influence to follow your public or business page. Be specific, write a public announcement and then “Suggest Page”.

2. “Follow Me On Facebook” Email Signature

Add a line to all your email correspondence inviting people to follow you that way too.  Simple but effective.

A “hyperlink” is a word or an image that can be clicked on, taking them directly where you want them to go.  So we hyperlinked the Facebook image and really could hyperlink the SuccessfulStayAtHomeMoms too.

Adding the Facebook logo helps it to standout AND the way we did it here shortens the length of the line making it prettier!

SuccessfulStayAtHomeMoms is pretty long, imagine if we have http://facebook.com/ in front of it.

3. Content For Posts

The key is to be real, be relevant, be thoughtful, be engaging and above all be YOU.  Give value to those who are considering following your page.

What do we mean?

If you have nutritional products, ideas are:

General benefits to your products (without posting the products)
Success quotes
Show fun pics of your life (social proof you’re REAL)

Nope, you won’t always post JUST about your products or general benefits of your products. On social media, your audience wants to be educated and entertained.

So edutain them!

4. What’s Working?

Identify the posts and content that spark the most interest and engagement, meaning your audience is “liking”, “commenting” and “sharing” it.  Consider spending a few dollars to “boost” those posts.  By increasing your visibility outside the page, people will be drawn into follow you.

5. Video Posts

Facebook LOVES videos hosted by THEM so if you want more views, don’t upload it to Youtube first.

This is a simple and great way to connect with your audience.

If you just learned something, take a quick video with your cell phone and upload it to Facebook.  Make sure you edutain them. (educate & entertain)

We get that sometimes we think that everyone else already knows what we just learned and that there is no value to it.  Something to definitely get over.

Lighting & Recording

Make sure to record somewhere with good lighting, if you’re not sure, go outside.

A tripod is nice to set your phone on.  Don’t let the fact that you don’t have one keep you from doing a video today though.

We all come up with great excuses for everything.  Do your video today to get some practice, THEN search Amazon for a tripod.

“Share” it!

Once you’ve recorded, on your phone there is a “share” icon and select “Facebook”.

But wait!

Now you’ve gotta give them a REASON to watch it before you hit enter.  If they just see a video of you, sorry, that’s not enough.

Consider what your video is about, then think of what you could say that would get them to turn on the audio.  (facebook automatically plays video)

But  DON’T give away the farm.

When you read it yourself, if it doesn’t make you wanna watch it, head back to the drawing board.

You want them to be curious, enough to click.  You want the curiosity to kill that cat!

If you’re a cat lover.. hopefully you get it and don’t take offense:)

Why we insist on videos?

Videos get everyone to see that you are REAL, gets them to connect with you and they will engage with your posts more.

When you do a lot of videos and people talk to you for the first time, they feel like they already know you…and when they see you at events, well, we will just say you are like a Hollywood star to them.

If you’re not comfortable being on camera, that’s completely normal at first…get over it.

Giving you some tough love because video is like no other.

Have you ever watched a movie and fell completely in love with one of the actors?

Well, this is no different.

Hint:  You are learning 7 steps to building your Facebook audience, use these as your first 7 videos.  Everything is recycled…we didn’t make all this up ourselves, use it!

6. Do not flood the page with product!

I know this may seem like the opposite thing to do for a business page but in reality, people buy things they are attracted to.

By creating a page of relevant content, exciting information, and engaging posts, people are drawn to you and your page and thus are more willing to trust the business and product you promote.

How often can you promote?

The rule of thumb is 5 relevant value based posts to every 1 ad.

If they like what they see, they will stick around and notice your ad.

Once they get to know, like & trust you, that’s when they take out their credit card!  Cha-ching!

7.Most Important

BE CONSISTENT!

Its not enough to make one or two good posts.

When your audience sees you are consistent, they figure you’re doing something right, getting results and become magnetically attracted to you!

One of the worst things a page owner can do is be sporadic with their posts.  Show people you are committed and intentional by making multiple posts of varied content throughout the day.  “Scheduling posts” can go a long way to this accomplishing this goal.

There are a few tools to schedule posts:

  • Hootsuite
  • Post Planner
  • Social Sprout

They have both free and paid versions.  Free versions just have limitations to them.

Take away- These are actual action steps that WE took to build our audience.  If you apply just one of these, that means you’re treating your business like a hobby and will get paid like it’s a hobby.

If you apply 3 of them, based on which ones you are “comfortable” with, you will get some result, might produce a little money for date night.

Apply all 7 of them and do it as #7 states…consistently…you have the ability to stay at home with you kids AND possibly retire your husband!

Your choice… #JustSaying

Once you put these 7 simple steps into action, you will have a consistent lead flow.  At that point you can turn your leads into customers.
