The Latest Live Stream App…Periscope
Have you ever wanted to show a grandparent something your child is doing live?
Or maybe show someone your view from a hot air balloon ride?
For me it hasn’t been easy to do, until now.
You see, what you need is already attached to you…well sort of…
There is a new live stream app called Periscope, AND it’s on your smart phone.
Not to mention your ipad too 🙂
The cool live stream app just launched on the iphone March of 2015 and it’s growing fast!
I’ve gotta tell you..it’s a lot of fun!
Don’t worry, if you’re an Android person, I still like you…and as of May 2015 you can get the app too:)
I started this live streaming app for my business and doing it consistently has grown my following very quickly.
One thing I love about it is the fact that it’s live and there are no do overs.
If that freaks you out, after you do it a couple of times you’ll get over it.
PLUS, after 24 hours, your video is deleted FOREVER!
If you want to keep your video, I’ll touch on how to do that a bit later here…
Periscope & Twitter
Now Persicope can be connected to your Twitter account.
In fact, I recommend when you download Periscope, to login using your Twitter details.
If you have already created a Periscope account and didn’t connect it to Twitter…scrap it!
Create a new account.
It will be so worth it in the long run to have them connected.
It allows you to have a link to your Periscope videos to post where ever your heart desires.
Could be on any social media outlet, could be via email.
This is REALLY great for a business.
We want to be every where…all the time…in the most proficient way possible.
Where ever you choose to place it, make sure to put a sense of urgency for them to watch it because remember, it’s gone after 24 hours!
When you record a video, it’s different from the way you probably usually record because everything is vertical.
We shot a video horizontally and this is what it looks like on Youtube…
If you’re wondering how I got this on Youtube, in your Periscope settings there is a way to have it also record on your phone at the same time.
You’ll also be asked during the initial download.
Once you have the video recorded to your phone, you can simply upload to your free Youtube account if you want.
I don’t recommend making this a habit though because the video itself with the black edges doesn’t look that great.
Sorry, if you want to be on Youtube too, you’re going to have to do 2 videos.
Do first one on Periscope since there are no redo’s and then you’ll be good to go for Youtube.
If you do Youtube first, I guarantee you are going to waste too much time redoing them.
